Alexandra had decided today to go out without the horse, and opted to simply take a walk through the Forest, Alfred as usual by her side trotting along beside her swishing skirts. The duchess smiled as she looked down at the little thing, clearly in his element as he jumped and hoped around rocks and bits of fallen trees. The both seemed to be in a happier mood, the fresh air was indeed welcomed with open arms. For at home, there wasn't much peace, every one and everything was buzzing about preparing for the Easter ball. Something that naturally Alexandra was obliged to attend. Now though, with the gentle babbling brooks to keep her and Alfred company among all the tall green trees, Alex didn't really care about any of that, though she did have hopes that Luke, and of course his handsome brother would be there.

Marcus was lying beside a brook having decided to come to some place quieter than the sea shore upon which he lived. He heard branches breaking and the gentle swish of fabric. He stood up and rested his hand on the hilt of his sword. He looked around then saw Alexandrea and relaxed. He stepped into her path and smiled at her " So we meet again." He said softly.

Alfred was the first to smell the man, but not quiet soon enough to alert Alexandra. The little fox stopped in his path, and Alexandra stopped too, looking curiously at the Fox, then she heard a voice behind her and jumped slightly, raising her hand to her chest. " Marcus, you frightened me. " she said, lowering her hand. Then she moved forward on the path so that she was with in good distance of him. " Though I am glad to see you. " she said, with a rather ladylike smile.

Marcus smiled at her " I did not mean to scare you and in truth you scared me for a moment." He motioned to the brook " I was lying down over there when I heard branches breaking underfoot." He said. He looked at Alfred and bowed his head to the fox then looked at Alex again " So remind me again as to why you are here instead of helping prepare for the ball." He asked her.

Alexandra shook her head a moment, the smile still on her face. " Well then, my apologize for scaring you. As to the ball, well, I needed a break for a while, so here I am. " she said. it was quite true too, for the house, no matter which floor or room you were in there was the sound of feet fluttering, food being prepared and tasted. It took a lot out of a girl to never have any silence.

Marcus smiled at her " Any fright is worth it as long as it is you giving it to me." He said to her. He was tempted to hug her but he was not sure if the fox would like that. He glanced at the fox then looked at her again.

Alexandra smiled again, allowing herself to blush slightly. " Are you determined to flatter me every time you see me? " she said, more of a statement than a question. She ignored Alfred as he stepped up to sit himself in front of her skirts. For, unlike any other animal in that forest, he had read the boy's thoughts, and found them to be far too inappropriate, and thus had moved himself between the two. Alexandra then, not wanting to leave the conversation to be dry offered more words. " Well Mr. Marcus, since I have disturbed your peace already. Would you mind joining me on my walk? " she asked, though she knew they wouldn't be altogether alone, after all, there was Alfred who had appointed himself as her chaperon at all times.

(( How is wanting to hug her innapropriate XD))
Marcus looked at her and nodded " Yes I would." He looked at Alfred " protective isn't he." He said to her. He looked around for a moment then back at her with a smile. He yawned slightly and bent down looking at Alfred " No need to worry about me messing around with her." He told the fox in a voice only he could hear. He stood up and smiled at the fox then looked at Alex again.

(( Alfred said it, not me. ))
Alexandra smiled looking down at the little fox who seemed to rather indifferent to the man's words, " Indeed, but I am grateful, he has helped me a countless number of times. " she said. Alfred seemed to take on a prouder look, but all the same, Alex had offered him to join them. So he couldn't really bite Marcus on The leg just yet. So all the same the little fox took his spot beside her skirts as Alexandra started to walk again, bidding Marcus to walk with her. " Since you have brought up the ball, I've been meaning to ask you. Are you and your brother to attend the ball? " she asked, hiding the eagerness that wanted to creep into her voice.

(( lol..bad fox))
Marcus watched the fox out of the corner of his eyes then shrugged " I don't know I might." He said to her. He looked around for a moment then looked back at her " I do not belive that Luke will attend though." He said to her.

Alexandra nodded, still looking around at all of the wonderful green all around them. " That is a shame, for both of you. I was hoping on saving a dance. " she said, glancing at him from the corner of her eye, though she never lost a step in her walk. She in truth wondered what it would be like, her in a gallant gown, entering down the stair case. The look in his eyes would be interesting, if nothing else.

Marcus looked at her " Do you want me to attend." He asked her. He knew that she more than likely did want him to but he wanted her to tell him that she wanted him to. He looked at the fox still somewhat scared of it since it didn't seem to like him all that much. He had a nagging feeling in the back of his mind that it would end up biting him one day.

Alexandra took a bit of a sigh, knowing just what he was getting at. " Yes Mr. Marcus, I would like you to attend. " she said with a smile, now turning her face so that she could peer at him. It was the truth after all, of all the suitors that would be at the ball, she hoped that she would give him the most dances, not only because he seemed the most interesting, but because, though they had met only a few times, she felt that she might indeed grow to love him.

Marcus looked at her " Then I shall attend." He said to her. He smiled then looked at Alfred. He sighed softly and hook his hands together behind his back watching the fox and looked at Alexandrea with a smile.

Anyone could realize that the little fox was quite a nuisance to any man in the Duchess' company, but Alex dare not send him off on her own accord. For though he was loyal and would never tell of anything against her reputation, if something were to happen she would be not only harmed but upset. So as they walked, now in the middle of the forest, she let the little red fox stay at her side, though he had been nice enough to stop staring at the boy. " I am glad to hear it Mr. Marcus, and I shall save you a dance for the night. " she said another, broader smile splashing across her face.
