Once upon a time mutants were a novelty, a rarity.
In the year 2036, they make up about one-third of the world's population. Mutant terrorist incidents like those at Liberty Island are but echoes of the past. The mutants built their own nation, one that flourished and prospered, accepting both mutants and basline humans with open arms. Genosha was a haven for those who were different, those who were willing to accept the strange. But nothing good lasts forever and when science meddles with natural evolution only bad can come of it.
Seven years ago Genosha broke out into civil war, at the center of it all a new mutant terrorist known only as The Warden. A mutant who took the powers of other mutants and gave them to humans to balance the power. Those who fought him were slaughtered and enslaved. Those who joined him lead his armies.
But there are those who fight back. The Family, the organization formerly known as the Brotherhood, has combatted the Warden unto the death of their leader, the infamous Magneto. Across the seas the X-Men sit back and work passively against the Warden, seeking a way to destroy him without more bloodshed. Their only real contribution has been the deaths of some of their greatest scientists and convincing the US government to fund refugee camps for the Genoshan people.
Other mutant organizations play their own part. X Corporation, a world-wide umbrella corporation based out of London, funding both sides of the fight, their mercenary tendencies keeping them under the radar. In New York, Gen-X, the mutant world's equivalent of the FBI, trains new agents to work all over the globe both in combatting the Warden and in resolving mutant related crimes the human government can't handle.
Generation NeXt is a unique post-by-post X-verse RPG. Inspired by the movie-verse more than the comics our storyline spans the past three decades of mutant history. The canons you know and love are mostly old now, many are dead. A new generation of mutants has center stage, fighting new battles and dealing with the same old prejudices their forefathers did.
We are currently accepting original mutant characters in four factions: X Corporation, The Family (Brotherhood), The X-Men, and Gen-X. We also welcome neutral (non-affiliated with factions) characters. Most would consider us advanced but check us out and decide for yourself. Several boardwide and faction based storylines are currently being plotted but we need more characters to fill in our factions before we can begin which means we need YOU!
