The cold winter is coming to a close now, the last frost was seen weeks ago and the temperature is starting to rise. Now is the time for cleaning of the house, pruning of the gardens and the celebration of spring's coming.

Cara laughed openly at his comment, " Well then, that makes one of us. " she said, for she herself was good at making only a few things, and anything edible was out of the question. Still though, his smile made her feel at ease, for she assumed that this boy did not smile often, and for him to grace her with it seemed an honor. " Well then, if you shall go to collect berries, then I shall have to go with you to carry them. " she said, for how was an orca to carry a basket of berries under water?

Edan brought a hand up to his chin, as if in deep thought, before responding, "I suppose you shall! And for your fine assistance, I'll let you have the first piece of pie!"
It was almost visible, he thought, the way Cara was relaxing. It was certainly good for her. "Since you're the lady, you can choose when we have our fine voyage."

Cara allowed herself a genuine laugh at his words. For indeed, a piece of pie would be good pay for a long adventure. Though, the longer she sat with the boy the more she thought that payment would not be needed. But as his question came upon her, she too was caught for a moment in deep thought. The island would have to be seen at its best of time, and for a long moment she had to remember what berries bloomed on the island, to determine what time the berries would be ripe and best for the pie that he had so described. as she remembered the bushes had been facing south, and the little black berries would be soon to ripen, in but a few weeks she supposed, as their season was in May. With that she concluded that they shroud leave three weeks from tomorrow. " Alright then, the berries won't have ripened for another three weeks, so we should go to pick them then, however, if you would bear my company yet another time. I would be happy to take you sooner. " she said with a nod of her head before she started a new weave, the latest one dropped in her thought and ruined.
"That sounds like a plan to me. How about we have a picnic out there Thursday?" Edan ran his hand over the tops of the grasses, making them sway beneath his palm, then snap back the other direction in the breeze. He added hastily, "I'm sure some of the plants will still be flowering, it'll be nice!" Then the boy dropped his gaze, waiting for Cara's response, so that he could drop the breath he'd caught in his throat. He busied himself with brushing sand from his arms and hair, occasionally wiping his hands off on his already sticky shirt when the sticky layer of salt on his skin became too itchy.
Cara nodded as she thought over the days, what all she had planned. Then however, the young girl laughed at herself, for even thinking that she had a schedule, all she had was school, school, and training. " Alright then, it will also give us a chance to check out the berry bushes, to see which ones we should watch. " she said still twisting the blades of grasses, some of which, were sticky with the light salt like his shirt. Cara though, was happy to be left, for the most part, dry and clean. Only a bit of her hair and her hands, which had already dried had even gotten wet with the salty water.
